Hey Charlie, thanks for posting! We will be in touch very soon.
Charlie, I have heard mixed reviews with customers trying to use the native traffic mirroring feature within AWS. But that said, it's been a while since I've talked to a customer about it.
As far as deploying a virtual GigaStor in the cloud, the process is very similar to loading a GigaStor Software Edition on any server or laptop. You need to make sure you created an instance that meets or exceeds the min specs for installation. I'll find that information and post it here.
I'll ask my other Systems Engineers to chime in and provide some of their experiences as well. Thanks for posting your question!
also, here is how it installs in the cloud from AWS Marketplace: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-coflegmhja3ac
Charlie, please see some VIAVI documentation below.
Thank you, David and Warren. I really appreciate your help and sharing these details.
Here is link to the overview of VIAVI Observer in AWS.

If you have access to the Observer Platform technical information documents site there is a step-by-step procedure for installing the virtual GigaStor from AWS AMI image.

If you need access please submit a request to access the online documents web site.
If may I just add more information here. charlie.ogborn we recently created a Lab environment (topology attached) in a real AWS account and worked very well. We used the AWS native traffic mirroring to send Observer traffic and we could explore a lot of features.
Hello Charlie, I have just now created a document that might help to set up the traffic mirroring in AWS. Hope you find it useful...
This looks GREAT Bruno. Thank you for sharing.
