Recover Apex widgets from other users

The Widgets still exist on the Apex server itself!

These are the folders you will navigate to on the Apex server:
Program files/observer/reports/widgets
Program files/observer/reports/dashboards

All widgets exist as XML files and there’s a USER ID in that XML.

1) To find your User ID (or one that you will associate the widget(s) from the lost user).  Create a new widget using your user account.  You will see the new widget XML in the Apex file system in the above folder once you open the widget it.  Note your User ID.

2) Next, find all the dashboard from the user no longer and edit the dashboard XML to overwrite the old user ID with your User ID in step 1, then save the file.

3) Either reboot Apex or restart the Web Service on the server.

All of those old widgets now show up under the new User ID.
